Nestled in the heart of Tofo Beach, the Dathonga Gallery offers a vibrant sanctuary for artistic expression in all its dazzling forms.

Since opening our doors, our space has served as a premier stage for a captivating array of visionary creators. It is our immense privilege to have hosted everything from the thought-provoking, historic sculptures of Gonçalo Mabunda to the electrifying, soulful sounds of Mozambican musical legends like Chico António and Wazimbo. Our platform is continually graced by world-class local and international artists, including Pilani Bubu, Jeff Maluleke and the Irish Trad Band, leaving diverse global audiences inspired.

The Dathonga Cultural Hub is far more than just a physical space; it is a vital ecosystem where Mozambican and African art, living heritage and global communities converge. Historically, emerging artists have lacked dedicated, high-tier spaces for exposure and growth, while communities and travellers have yearned for authentic cultural connection.

To expand our vision, we partnered with Cool Train Mozambique, led by Angola-born, Tofo-resident event producer and DJ João Lourenço (Johnny Cool Train), alongside Corina Heidi, a German native who has called Tofo Beach home for over 15 years. This partnership has restructured our Hub, blending event production expertise with culinary experiences. Together, we have grown our programming to offer a fuller weekly calendar, kicking off Wednesdays with our Open Mic Experience and wrapping up Sundays with our signature Live Music Sessions.
